Dictionary of Flood Protection (currently not available)

The Dictionary of Flood Protection, a joint project between the Federal Office for Water and Geology and the Swiss Federal Chancellery, contains selected terms from a variety of subject areas such as hydrology, hydraulics, geomorphology, risk management and hydraulic engineering. It comprises a total of 835 entries in four languages (German, French, Italian and English), with over 1500 terms in each language. The entries include a definition and other useful information (notes, references). An accompanying CD-ROM offers additional search facilities.
