Climatic variations and changes, extreme weather anomalies and nature-induced disasters must be interpreted within a longer-term context. With Euro-Climhist, evidence on weather and climate for Switzerland between 1550 and 1999 is made accessible through a user-friendly web search.

The project is supported by the Oeschger Centre for Climatic Change Research, University of Bern, by the Department for Economic, Social and Environmental History of the Institute of History of the University of Bern and by the Federal Office of Meteorology and Climatology Meteo Swiss in the framework of the Global Climate Observing System (GCOS) Switzerland.
